End-game is a fuzzy term to describe the passage of play at the climax of the game, ,when rule pressures point toward an inevitable conclusion. Not all games have final end-games, but those that don't often have scenarios lead toward end-game conclusions.
End-games are traditionally where the game should make a final splash, when all the hard work pays off. They are preceded by openings and mid-games.
