A gamelet is an impromptu and informal game that arises within a social setting. "Making a game of something" like running to catch a bus is an example of a gamelet, as is inventing a game on the fly for children to play. In the digital space social media has given rise to many gamelets, such as Twitter hashtag games where participants are invited to substitute words in movies for funny terms.
